AR-15 / AR -10 Universal Conversion Jig for full automatic
This complete conversion jig assembly has been re-designed to be universal for the entire AR 15 family of receivers including the AR 10 for use typically by Type 07 FFLs/Class 2 SOT’s. The sideplates have been modified to accept ALL of the different shapes on the forgings as well as their billet/polymer counterparts including the popular Polymer 80 and James Madison Tactical. This unit accurately locates (held within .001”) the 2 drilling holes as well as depicts not only the shape but also the depth specifics of the select-fire control pocket layout. The entire completion process may be done with only a drill press and Dremel tool for those who do not have access to a milling machine (although a mill is the easiest). This unit is popular with LE armorers in that their current AR carbines can be reconfigured to select-fire M 16 “in-house” and then their Form 1 tax-exempt is filed. That way there is no longer any 4-6 month wait for acquisition due to an BATF approval of a transfer.
As is evident from the photos and video included here, much time was spent in the design and manufacture of this jig as well as creating the very detailed 5-page jig usage instructions with color 3D cutaway CAD drawings which include all listed (.001”) measurements which are sent via email upon shipping confirmation after the sale. Hardened steel drilling bushings have been inserted into the sideplates for both auto-sear pin holes for long-term reuse.
In addition, while the other Class II conversion angle-iron/leveling screw items (which cannot fit any polymer nor AR-10 forging version due to their outer raised ridges) only attempt to layout just one hole; my kit accurately locates both holes on both sides as well as includes the top (select-fire) milling template along with denoting the (3) unique depths of the auto-fire control pocket on the top. No other jig kit has anything remotely similar to these features. I also added a drilling template to assist those who do not have access to a milling machine for the receiver’s sides. This was done with 1/16″ side-by-side holes along those outer edges. This drilling template is to create 1/8″ DEEP PILOT HOLES ONLY-being plastic, it cannot take excessive heat to full depth. Replacement drill tops are available for an extra charge.
Also included in these instructions are the little known and rarely disclosed armorer’s techniques regarding the bolt/auto-sear release “timing” measurements which are done with a feeler gauge through the magazine well.
Receiver testing prior to actual jig work
This jig was produced due to demand by Class II’s for an inexpensive jig for converting any and all AR-15’s and AR-10’s which are already operational. Take the time to notice all of the details including the engraving extrusions on the parts themselves in each of these photos. Jig/template assemblies and all parts in the photos are included (lower receivers and/or lower receiver parts kits and tools are not included). There are considerable reliefs cut in the both sideplates to accommodate the variances between manufactures 3D notations and extrusions of “SAFE” and “SEMI” declarations and selector stops as well as the strengthening ridges in the polymer and AR-10 designes. Please note, if you are unsure of your milling capabilities, let me remind you that this jig is made of plastic and is NOT designed to be a machining tool stop. If you hit plastic with a high speed steel mill bit at 2,000RPM, the plastic will always shatter; the top template is used only to scribe the shape onto the top of your receiver.
To all of you so patiently waiting, I have an M16 modification adapter for the 80% Arms EASY JIG GEN 2 AR-15/AR-10 combo jig as well as the GEN 1. They are different in size and shape so contact me for pricing and details. Either GEN 1 or GEN 2 come with the template as well as the depth gauge. Price is $40 when ordered with this jig but needs to be done by phone since it is an add-on.

This jig along with all of the others that I design, manufacture, and sell, was “over-engineered” for those who value their time and money. Since I have attempted to foresee and surmount any and all possible errors which could happen during your construction(s), the possibility of your making mistakes approaches zero.
Nothing is more disappointing than a mishap that requires a replacement receiver. Not only is there a monetary loss, but there is also the frustration factor due to the lost time in the work thus far, perhaps a broken tool or fixture, then there is the wait involved for the replacements to arrive from the other supplier via shipping. Now what should have been reasonably fun has become work. Those frustrations only follow my competitors’ sales and not my clients.
Jig/template assemblies and supporting parts of the jigs in the photos are included, however (trigger groups or trigger boxes and/or trigger pack assemblies, firearms, receivers, parts, tools, milling bits, and/or drill bits are not included).
Keep in mind that I am an 07 FFL with a Class II SOT (suppressor and machinegun manufacturer) and essentially all other internet vendors of items similar in function/use to my kits are neither licensed FFL’s nor SOT’s.

In my efforts to make this the finest, most accurate jig available, I continually re-examine my product line and I also listen to any and all suggestions by my customer base.
